Anxiety & Ways I Deal With It

Blog Everyday in May Challenge Day 16!
Day 16: Something difficult about your "lot in life" and how you're working to overcome it

It's time to open up a little..Post by post I hope to be able to open up more.
But for's this?

Since my freshman year of high school I have been dealing with anxiety. Specifically testing anxiety, and when I'm feeling very overwhelmed. Whether it's work, school, family stuff, etc. I try my best- I really do. But sometimes I feel it takes over my life and prevents from accomplishing what I am supposed to be capable of. I cannot overcome without my family's support. Whether it's my sister who tells me to "just take calm breaths, drink some water" Or my brother who tries to let me know that "it's okay, it's just a panic attack- you'll be fine"
Whenever it happens I usually try to talk someone about, distract myself, or something. I distract myself usually by writing positive phrases such as: Don't Stop Believin', You are Strong, Have Strength, Don't Give Up, etc, etc.
Or I journal out word for word what I'm feeling. What could have/did contribute to my anxiety/panic attack. This "lot in my life" I am still figuring out learning how to deal with it. But I do know that God does not put us through anything we cannot handle. Right Pumbaa? {That's my sister} That is one thing I have learned throughout the past 4+ years. I have my good days and bad. Life is a roller coaster, the ups and downs. But sometimes you just gotta roll with the punches.

I'm not saying it's easy, it's definitely hard and can make a great day awful- but I think it's always going to be a learning process.

  1. My partner is trying to tackle this right now. He says thanks for the idea of jotting down what he might have done to contribute to the feelings. Thanks for sharing the difficult stuff. Take care.
