Live Colorfully
Red,
the color of our garage in the house I grew up in,
Specks of the color in the bricks.
Perhaps it was on the outside to show how much love was inside the house.
White,
the color of the walls in the house,
Cream white carpets that our feet ran on.
Perhaps they were the blank canvases that were meant to 'accidentally' be drawn on, or spill something on.
Gold,
the color of the door knobs in the house
bright, and shiny.
Perhaps to represent the hearts of those who entered the house.
Navy Blue,
the color of our couch
hues of it were on the living room rug.
Perhaps it was to represent the trust built during conversations on that couch.
Gray
the color of our TV
shades of it come with life, as I learned
Perhaps to represent some of the days and occurrences in that house.
The meaning of colors from my childhood are never ending
Colors of happiness and sadness
innocence and mischief,
love and anger.
I know look around my room, that I decorated and the colors I thoughtfully chose.
Each color has a new meaning.
Every color of the rainbow paints not only my childhood but my life.
