5 Things I'm Thankful For...

November 24, 2016

Happy Thanksgiving beautiful! I hope you are having a wonderful day, thanks for still stopping by today. On this day that we give thanks, I have to take a moment and look at what is happening at those around me. It makes me even more thankful for what I am blessed with.
So without further ado....

1. Faith
If it weren't for God and my faith. I wouldn't be here. This may sound so cliché - but without faith I wouldn't have God to turn to. I have learned to remember Him in my best times as much as I remember him during my worst times. For HE is always there. He has a plan, He is the Almight and all Knowing. I am thankful to have been born and raised with the faith that I have and pray it grows stronger each day.
2. Good Health
As many of you may or may not know, I was born a premature baby, and long story short - they didn't think I would survive. But heck yeah I did! I am so blessed to have been given a second chance at life. I am happy, healthy, and this past year has had some bumps. Many of my family members and loved ones ended up ill or in this hospital this past year. My mom in February, my dad in October, and family friends as well. I am very happy that many of them are doing better now, especially my parents and cousin. I continue to pray for everyone's good health and speedy recoveries.
3. Support Systems
I don't know about you, but I have a support system everywhere in my life. At home, my support system is my parents, cat, and siblings. At school, it's my best friend, and professors, like Dr. Smith and Dr. Felvegi. And in just everyday, there's my sister, Nicole, Baaji, and a few other very special people. This semester has been, by no means, easy, but life isn't easy. Without these support systems in place, I wouldn't have had to motivation to push through the stress, difficulties, emotions, and obstacles that came my way this year - big or small. So thank you, to each and every one of you who have continuously stood by side. I am thankful for you each and every day.
4. New Opportunities
I do believe that being of a different race, a young woman, and having different beliefs does put some gaps between me and the girl I sit next to in class. But this past year, I was blessed with not one, not two, three amazing photography opportunities. I pray that this is just the beginning of a big break in my photography career. Thank you to those who have helped me gain these opportunities, believed in me and my photography work over the past 10+ years, and continue to encourage me to learn more about it.
5. My Self-Determination
Ever since I was bornI have defied the odds. I am thankful to have grown up in a household where each person set the bar higher than the first. This helped motivate me to always strive for nothing but the best and the utmost success in whatever I do. Whether it's school, work, extracurricular activities, photography, blogging - I have a determination in myself, a drive, one may say, that I know something good, and better, is out there waiting for me. Career wise, and just in life in general. I know that my life is just starting out as a young, ambitious 22 year old. And I honestly cannot wait to see how the rest of my story plays out. As I have said before, I get to help write it.
Thank you for all your love, support, and encouragement!
Happy Thanksgiving
