I have learned,
that time is of the essence.
When I was born,
I was given a bleak prognosis.
I was not supposed to survive.
I proved the doctors wrong.
When I was young,
I was given a diagnosis,
I was not going to be okay.
I proved the doctors wrong.
When I was in high school,
I was given a path to take,
I made my own.
When I was in high school,
I was bullied,
I became a loner,
then I was a goner.
When I was in college,
I was given opportunities,
I ran with it and left a mark.
Now, I am a business woman.
Self-made blogger and photographer.
I am a daughter, sister, best friend, cousin,
and an independent woman in control of my life.
Every bit counts, even this hour.
